Comics on Comics: Escape From San Diego!

The Comics on Comics crew was in San Diego for this year’s Comic-Con International and it was an… interesting show to say the least. We met a lot great people down there, from fans and professionals to our podcasting peers. And we want to thank everyone for making the convention such a terrific experience!

If this is your first visit to CoC, here’s a quick primer: Comics on Comics is a live show recorded in Los Angeles, where we bring stand-up comedians and comic book creators together for a round-table discussion of the latest comic book news. The show is then posted here on our website and on iTunes. Previous guests have included Geoff Johns, Wendy Pini, Brian Lynch and David Gerrold. Our next episode will be taped later this month, with date, location and guests to be announced soon…

In between our live shows, we conduct interviews with comic book creators at conventions, signings and live events. Todd McFarlane, Jeff Smith, Brad Meltzer and Joe Hill are just a few of the creators we’ve profiled since the launch of CoC. And we have several new interviews coming up soon, including one with Jeph Loeb which will go up later today.

Before I sign off, I just want to give a shout out the guys at Comic Geek Speak! Juan and I are among the guests for the first episode of their Comic-Con coverage. Basically, a large group of comic podcasters went out to dinner at a place called the Tilted Kilt where portions of our conversations were recorded and edited together for the show. It’s a little disjointed, but it was a lot of fun. Check it out!
